The Greater Seattle area offers an amazing range of opportunities for outdoor activities. Best of all, it usually doesn't take more than a couple of hours at most to reach the place that suits your recreational needs. From hiking or rock climbing in the mountains to beachcombing or boating on the sound, outdoor enthusiasts are in their element in this region.

With spring and summer upon us, there are also a multitude of classes, camps and workshops that can introduce the love of the great outdoors to all ages. Almost every Greater Seattle city has a Parks and Recreation Department that offers activities. You'll find links to local city websites here.
